Mohanlal's Keerthi Chakra has made a bumper opening and is already declared a winner at the box-office. All the theatres where the movie was screened have been witnessing full houses.

Mohanlal who plays the commando in the movie has won appreciation for his performance. The audience has lapped up his realistic portrayal laced with subtle heroism.

Produced by R B Choudhary and directed by a debutant major Ravi, the movie's release coinciding with the Independence Day has helped his cause for the theme is on patriotism.

The film zooms in on a group of commandos fighting militancy in the Kashmir valley. Keerthi Chakra, a bi-lingual in Tamil and Malayalam has offered a very different viewing experience.
