Kerala priest arrested for sex abuse of minor boys

Father Saji Joseph from Kalpetta in Wayanad district was arrested for sexually abusing minor boys at a children`s home.

The priest abused boys aged between 14 and 15 years at St Vincent`s Balbhavan in summer 2016. He was absconding for three days, when police nabbed him in Mangalore.

The issue came to light when one of the abused children spoke to their parents of that traumatizing experience. Following a complaint from the parents, police investigated the issue and found more boys had been abused.

Another Kerala priest was recently arrested after a minor girl gave birth after being raped by him.
