Vishal announces his Presidential candidate for Producer's Council Election

The incumbent producers council's period has come to an end.The previous tenure of the council was lead by Kalaipuli S Thanu as President, h Amma creations T.Siva as Secretary and Five star Kadhiresan, P.L.Thenappan and Radhakrishnan in other prominent posts of officebearers.

It has been announced that election for the new tenure is to be held on 5th February 2017. It will be a multi cornered contest as the contestants are competing from several different teams.

A team formed by actor and Nadigar Sangam General Secretary Vishal will also be contesting in the election. Vishal has formed a team and after discussions among the members, veteran actor and yesteryear dream girl Khushbu Sundar has been nominated as the Presidential Candidate.Candidates for other positions will be announced as confirmed by Vishal.

In a media interaction during his Birthday on 29 August 2016, Vishal announced his decision to contest or be represented by a team in Producer's Council Election thus:

"I am not sure whether I will contest in the elections for the key posts of Tamil Film Producers Council. It is yet to be finalised. But all youngsters have decided to contest in the upcoming elections for the council. By youngsters, I mean actors who are also producers, directors who are also producers and regular producers. But these people have decided to contest election not for the posts but to bring about a change. We are fed up with raising questions. Now they (the present administration of the Council) have come to the stage of taking action against me but they have not sent any notice so far. At the same time if we don't get proper answers for the questions we raise for the welfare of the cinema industry. we have to bring the change and we want to be the change."
