The Oscar award winner Kiran Bhat for technical excellence in music hails from Moodabidiri of Dakshin Kannada district now settled down in Coimbatore.

It is ILM Facial performance-capture solving system was first used in Avengers for Hulk character. Photoreal facial animation was also used in other movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, War Craft, Star War episodes II and Star Wars Rogue one. This system enables high-fidelity facial performance transfer from actors to digital characters. The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science selected the expertise of Kiran Bhat for the prestigious Oscar awards. It will be presented to this 41 years young Kiran Bhat on February 11.

Kira Bhat currently an industrialist in Coimbatore of Tamil Nadu has roots of Karnataka. His father is Kadandale Srinivas Bhat and mother Kalyanapura Jayasri. He completed mechanical and electrical engineering and moved to USA for computer science doctorate. He evolved his own technical institute in San Francisco. It was six years ago he gave a start to ILM Technicalities. It created a revolution in Hollywood. Kiran Bhat wife Payal is also doctorate holder.

Kiran Bhat is one of the seven Indians to get this prestigious Oscar Award.
