The most ambitious 3D motion capture film ‘Kochadaiyaan’ starring Superstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood’s reigning queen Deepika Padukone didn’t receive the kind of response that everyone had expected. But still the makers of the film are now working on the sequel.

Though co-producer Murali Manohar admits that the Hindi version of the film hasn’t done well especially in the North Indian belt, he’s confident that the investments will be recovered. But the good part is that the Tamil audience welcomed this new format of filmmaking and has been received well.

Made on a budget of 125 crore rupees, the first week collections are only 53 crore rupees with a major share coming from the Tamil version... This film was released in 6 languages and had competition from ‘Manam’ in Telugu and ‘Heropanti’ in Hindi.
