‘City of Joy’ – the entire globe terms it so. Of course, a home for veterans and Capital of British India happens to be a ducky spot for various Kollywood auteurs, who love to film over there. Naturally, the gushing river of Ganges and the Hooghly Bridge has been noticed in many films. Right from Mani Ratnam to every filmmaker, Kolkata has been their best-loved backdrops.

At the moment, various big tickets are being shot over there. It goes inclusive with Mani Ratnam’s bilingual ‘Raavana’, Surya’s ‘Aadhavan’, Vikram’s ‘Kanthaswamy’ and more. Mani Ratnam had earlier canned his ‘Yuva’ on the elegant Hooghly Bridge. Sources have stated that Vikram’s ‘Kanthaswamy’ will have the flashbacks shot over the backdrops of Ganges.

K.S. Ravikumar wielding megaphone for Surya’s ‘Aadhavan’ has revealed that the entire film would be filmed extensively in Kolkata.

Although, it’s a thickly populated busy-land, the scenic essence are really relishing to the eyes.
