Kshetram

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Telugu Comments

Two narratives - one historical, the other contemporary and two roles of Priyamani lend an edge to Kshetram.  The film also has two formidable male faces - Jagapathi Babu and Shyam of Kick fame.  Besides all this, what makes Kshetram special is the fact that it is a love story that brews between a Rayalaseema boy and a North Indian girl.

Directed by T Venu Gopal, the film turns interesting in the run up to the marriage between the two.  The director says that the way the film takes a historical turn will come as an unexpected  twist.  The flashback episodes will stand out in the narrative, he asserts.

Priyamani plays the character of Naga Penchalamma.  You will see her performing karate, horse riding, sword and stick fights in the film.  (If the grapevine is to be believed, she even did some tough action scenes on her own without using the body doubles!).

The film is produced by G Govindaraju.  Music-directed by Koti, the film has Kota Srinivasa Rao, Tanikella Bharani, Brahmaji, Uttej, Rajeev Kanakala in other important roles.

Lyrics are by Suddala Ashokteja; dialogues are by Parachuri brothers.
