Lisa Ray's ‘Cooking With Stella’ will open The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA), kicking off the eighth annual festival on 20 April.

Ray, who stars in the film, reunites with director Dilip Mehta and producer Deepa Mehta, who co-wrote the screenplay. IFFLA will be held from 20 - 25 April at ArcLight Hollywood.

‘Cooking With Stella’ is a warm-hearted comedy about scheming cook Stella (Seema Biswas) who uses her long-term post as the personal chef to the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi to run an elaborate grey market import business.

“We are thrilled to support the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles in its efforts to expand the relationship between Hollywood and the Indian film community and it is our distinct honor to celebrate the artistic and social contributions of our member Lisa Ray,” said Screen Actors Guild national executive director David White.

The event will benefit the Institute for Myeloma & Bone Cancer Research, an independent non-profit research institute working to find improved treatment and a cure for multiple myeloma.

"Lisa Ray has been afflicted with this disease and has made heroic efforts to make the world aware of myeloma and its terrible impact on the human body. We are privileged to have this opportunity to recognize Lisa's courage and assist the Institute for Myeloma & Bone Cancer Research in raising funds and increasing awareness for their research," said IFFLA Board of directors chairman Arnold Peter.
