Simha is perhaps the only successful film for Nandamuri Bala Krishna over the past decade with the previous hit 'Lakshmi Narasimha' released in 2004. He featured in 13 films after that but somehow the success eluded this hero who was erstwhile labeled the 'Box Office Bonanza'.
`Simha' directed by Boyapati Srinu rewrote the actor's stamina and his grip on the Telugu film commerce once again and he mentioned this in many an occasion with a sparkle in his eye. Thus, when the director approached him about his project idea, though following a failure with his nephew NTR in `Dammu' Balayya readily agreed and adjusted his dates.
The project has such power in the very combination that happening producers like Varahi and 14 Reels are attracted by the potential and announced themselves in. But the master stroke came when the title `Legend' was announced. It created such a huge optimism among the Nandamuri fans that they started owning the film.
The second masterstroke came in the form of Jagapathi Babu one of the most underrated actors of Telugu cinema roped in to play the antagonist and the first look of the film released on his birthday created a sensation among the whole industry.
With names like Music by Devi Sri Prasad, cinematography by Ram Prasad, heroines in Radhika Apte and Sonal Chauhan etc have added glitz to the ensemble making it all that more exciting.
What with the state politically charged up and Balayya's political campaigns adding to the curiosity, the film is all set to rock the Ugadi week and maybe with even the slightest of the `Simha' magic repeating, this film is going to be the biggest blockbuster of Balayya's entire career, reinstating him on the chair reserved for the true `Legend'.
