"Script is the lifeline of a film. Young filmmakers should make sure that they are ready with a good script before wielding the megaphone. They should pen more and more screenplays to be confident," says Selvaraghavan.

Busy with his forthcoming movie, which has Vikram in the lead, the 'Aayirathil Oruvan' man says "A director could make it big only if he or she is good at making scripts. An interesting story and a gripping screenplay are the ingredients for success."

On 'Aayirathil Oruvan' he says, "Everyone in the team had an eye for detail. We had to labour for over 150 days to erect those huge sets. The experience was however extremely satisfying. I had all the freedom and there was no constraint as far as the budget was concerned, and I was able to create what I envisioned."

"Unlike commercial entertainers which have limited scope for a director, such films give us immense opportunities for creativity. But they are hard to come by," he adds.
