Light in life, 946 villages get light

Before the elections various government schemes are coming up as a vote bank capture idea. The Energy Minister DK Shivakumar locked in IT battle continuing his ministry DK Shivakumar has announced Light` to 946 villages that have no power supply. This would be completed within December this year.

Belaku Grama Yojane` would be deployed in 187 Vidhana Sabha constituencies. From each constituency five villages would selected for giving basic amenities. Each village getting electricity would cost the government from Rs.25 lakhs to Rs.40 lakhs.

For a population over 5000 in 222 town`s power transmitters will be sets up. In addition to it the government is contemplating on solar energy conservation from the government buildings.

The IPDS scheme comes in to effect where in the population are over 15000. 124 Towns have been identified. The Bescom, Chescom, Jescom, Mescom and Hescom from government would be introduced in 103 towns.

A tender for 1000 Mega watts power purchase has been called. This is to meet the emergency in supply of power says DK Shivakumar, energy minister of Karnataka.
