It’s official! Lingusamy will be making his B-town debut by remaking his hit ‘Vettai’, a 2012 Pongal offering in Tamil cinema that featured Madhavan and Arya. Now it is said that Shahid Kapoor will be essaying the lead role (that of Arya’s) in the Hindi version!

Remaking Tamil films has become a fad up north and is being followed by all top notch actors as well. Lingusamy will be directing the Hindi version as well and the film will go on floors shortly. It is said that the Tamil film was screened for Shahid Kapoor recently and the actor gave his nod for this commercial entertainer.

In fact, it is further said that Shahid Kapoor rescheduled his dates to fit in this film. A hunt is on by the makers for the second lead, essayed by R Madhavan aka Maddy in the original. The actor played a timid police official and the elder brother of Arya.

‘Vettai’ is about two brothers and two sisters who fall for one another and is a high voltage action entertainer loaded with romance, comedy and sentiment.
