DMDK president Vijaykanth has thanked comedian Vadivelu for coming down heavily against him during the election campaign. “Only because of such remarks we have emerged triumphant,” he said.

When reporters asked the actor-politician about Vadivelu’s campaign against him, Vijayakanth said, “Former Chief Minister Annadurai once said ‘long live criticisers.’ This is my answer.”

He said the Tamil film industry will witness a positive change in the AIADMK regime, under the leadership of J Jayalalithaa. “I will do my best for my colleagues in Kollywood,” Vijayakanth said.

Expressing gratitude to people and his party workers, he said, “Only because of them I have become the opposition leader of the State. I will always work hard for them. My priority is to improve the living conditions of the poor.’
