'Maa' is an emotional tale about a mother and her little daughter and the love they share. Bhumika plays the mother, Prithviraj as her friend and Srikant has been cast as her ex-lover.

Bhumika was impressed with the storyline of 'Maa' and had actually accepted to do this film before four years for Director Sabapathy. The filming did not start due to various reasons.

The director approached her a few months earlier and the actress wanted to do the film immediately.
