The year 2000 saw Kollywood movie-buffs smitten by Madhavan and his performance in his debut movie. Although R Madhavan has made many cameo appearances before his career as a film star, his first break was through Mani Ratnam’s ‘Alaipayuthey.’

Ever since, there has been no looking back for this lover boy. He delivered two such hits with similar roles, as a romantic hero, through ‘Minnale’ and ‘Dumm Dumm Dumm.’ He went up North after his success in ‘Minnale’ and has ever since juggled successfully between Hindi and Tamil films.

In his decade long career as an actor, Madhavan a.k.a Maddy has donned varied roles; remember he played a father who fights an emotional struggle with his adopted daughter in Mani Ratnam’s flick ‘Kannathil Muthamitaal’? And immediately after receiving much critical acclaim for his performance in this movie, his next with Linguswamy, ‘Run’ was one of the biggest blockbusters of Kollywood.

His performance as Anbu Arasu alongside Kamal Hassan in ‘Anbe Sivam’ was well-received and much talked about. Whereas, his performance as a goon in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ayutha Ezhuthu’ still remains etched in the hearts of audience.

What’s interesting about Madhavan is that he shares brilliant chemistry with all his co-stars, directors and the crew that they never fail to approach him back with another project…

He has never ignored guest appearances in good scripts either. His character in ‘Lesa Lesa’ added much hype to the movie and his performance in Hindi blockbuster ‘Rang De Basanti’ is what the whole script revolves around!

Although the actor has few Hindi blockbusters to his credit, including ‘Rang De Basanti,’ ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu,’ he has never ignored his Kollywood fans.

Madhavan’s forthcoming flick in Tamil is Linguswamy’s multi-starrer, ‘Vettai’ where he shares screen space with Arya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul.

Madhavan has also been a successful brand ambassador for top-notch brands in the country and a popular television host as well. He is known for the ‘pet lover’ in him and is associated with many social causes and few city NGOs as well.

We @ IndiaGliz wish him a happy birthday and hope that he continues to do the good deeds he does, and look forward to see him in many more Tamil projects. Don’t forget to post your comments wishing the actor; we’ll make sure the star gets a glimpse of it…
