Madhavan has an archetypal image --- that of a gum-chewing urban, yuppie, man-about-the-town.

The last thing, you would imagine, he would play somebody fighting for the cause of Tamil.

But life is a lot stranger than what we think it is to be.

The chocolate-box hero, who is currently playing the lead in Thambi directed by Seeman and Priyasaki, is all set to star in Balu Mahendra's forthcoming film that would go to floors soon.

The interesting bit of news is that in Thambi, Madhavan plays an angry youth fighting for the sake of Tamil.

The role is said to be a take off on LTTE supremo Prabhakaran. This is sure to raise a storm and dust after the release. But no surprises if you Seeman.

Seeman is always known for his penchant for Tamil. Since his last Veeranadai about three years ago, Seeman has stayed away from Kollywood only to take part in literary meetings and meetings organized by Tamil scholars and Tamil associations.

Thambi is an action-packed movie. A major portion of the movie is already completed.
