Vishal seems to have developed a passion for Madurai city. His last two releases (Sandai Kozhi and Thimiru) were set in Madurai backdrop. Both the movies went on to make it big at the box office.

Call it sheer coincidence. Vishal's forthcoming release Sivapathigaram too is set in Madurai backdrop.

Vishal's Sandai Kozhi featured Meera Jasmine opposite him. For Thimiru, he had Shreya Reddy, who acted in few Malayalam movies like Black and Bharathchandran IPS, playing a prominent role.

In Sivapathigaram, he has Malayalam actress Mamta Mohandas acting with him and for Thamiraparani, another lass from 'the God's Own Country' Udhayathara is giving him company.
