Mahesh Babu is all set to recital a poem and collaborate on a cause very close to Farhan Akhtar's heart. The Tollywood superstar will narrate Javed Akhtar’s poem in Telugu for Farhan’s initiative - MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination) - which is designed to create awareness among men to respect women and promote gender equality.

Farhan, who has taken a pledge to spread awareness about gender inequality and has launched a drive to condemn crimes against women through various mediums and languages, now wants to reach out to as many people as possible down South too. So, he requested Mahesh Babu to render his voice for the Telugu version of the organisation’s poem, which is penned by his father and lyricist, Javed Akhtar. The poem, with words like ‘Jiske aankhon mein hai jagmaati hui jaise gahri sharafat ki ek roshni’ has already been translated in other languages too.

It is said that Mahesh babu will be recording the poem tomorrow in Hyderabad.

Farhan’s spokesperson, said, "This poem, which has already been translated in Marathi, Urdu and Bengali will now be translated in Telugu. And, yes, Mahesh Babu has agreed to record the poem. The recording will be done tomorrow in Hyderabad. As Farhan wanted to reach out to people in the South too, he felt no one else could make more of an impact than Mahesh Babu. We are looking forward to this collaboration."
