'Makkhi' helmer SS Rajamouli's next 'Bahubali', an expensive affair

After making a great impression with sci-fi fantasy ‘Makkhi’, one of the brightest and distinguished directors in the South Indian film Industry S.S.Rajamouli is coming up with a period drama next.

Titled ‘Bahubali’, the film is touted to be the most expensive Indian film ever made, based on a mega-budget of 160 crore.

According to our reports, S.S Rajamouli has declared production budget for the movie to be made in three languages stands 125 crore, the most for any Indian film till now. This is the most ambitious project for national award winning director Rajamouli whose movies often boast of a good story, superior technical values and are overall, proven powerful packages.

A period film set in eighth century AD, ‘Bahubali’, is expected to showcase never seen before spectacular sets and special effects taking it up to the next level.

The film that is to go on floors in the next few months stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati in pivotal roles.

Unlike his previous projects, where the films have been released in one language and dubbed thereafter, ‘Bahubali’ will be an officially trilingual project targeted at cross section of audiences in the country.

From action thrillers, to contemporary issues, to mythology Rajamouli has traversed across genres that speak volumes of his versatility as a director. Movies like Magadheera, Eega, Maryada Ramanna and such others are added to his credit. ‘Magadheera’ which smashed all Box Office records upon its release is termed as the seventh wonder of Rajamouli.

He is also a renowned name in Bollywood now with his movies being remade the most here in Hindi like ‘Son of Sardar’, ‘Rowdy Rathore’ etc.
