Malayalam actress in 'beef' trouble

Malayalam actress Surabhi Lakshmi has been trolled on her social media pages for the past few days. The reason is that she had said on a show that beef was her favourite dish at a particular restaurant in Kozhikode.

The fact this episode was aired on Onam, a holy festival in Kerala, irked those sections who saw this as offensive. “You would do whatever dirty things for money, that is what we saw on the TV,” a troll remarked on her FB page.

"Hunger is a basic instinct of life and when I am hungry, I don't usually care if it's beef, chicken or pork. The issue is not that I ate beef, but that the programme was telecast during Onam,” Surabhi has told a national magazine in her own defence.
