Title - MALE, Producer - R Chandru, Direction - Shiva Thejas, Music - Jassie Gift, Cinematography - Sugnan, Cast - Premkumar, Amoolya, Sadhu Kokila, Bullet Prakash, Padmaja Rao, Nagendra Shah, Gauthami, Sangeetha, Ninasam Siddarth and others.

The much expected `Male' (Rain) Kannada cinema in the debut direction of Shiva Tejas supported well by director turned producer R Chandru is moderate. It does not harm or injure the minds with usual action and masala stuff. It moves like a drizzle and stops like a thunder storm at the end. `Male' and `Love' are two inseparable focus this film. Although `Male' is not magnificent, `Male' is a cool watch. Debutant Shiva Tejas knows the knack of putting up questions in the mind of audience and answering them in a convincing style. He does maintain the logic part in the film.

The technical team of this film cameraman Sugnan, editor, costume designer and dialogue writer add extra value to the film. Jassie Gift provides two lovely gifts in the form of songs to this `Male'.

Varun (Premkumar) son of a business tycoon is impressed with the beauty he was looking for. That is Varsha (Amoolya). In his first meet it is rain and of course in the last scene of the film also there is rain. In between 125 minutes of the film there is thunder storm because of the mindset of Varsha. She knows what is what and right daughter to her family. The confidence of parents should not be ditched is her policy. She tests the patience of Varun on several occasions. Finally she lands up in confusion on the proposal of Varun. She prefers to move with him as friend for one week. In this time she finds the good heart of Varun. It is impossible for her to say no to the qualities of Varun. He is such a gem in his attitude and attention in life.

The twist in the tale is when Varsha knows that Varun is the boss of the company she is working. Varun looks too big a choice for her. She decides to say no to the proposal. What next when beautiful rain occurs? You better watch the oscillation of mind finally stopping.

Premkumar is not only lovely star but he is stylish star. The film `Male' also showcase his talent besides the looks turning different. Dialogues given to him are pleasant and box office dialogues come to charming actress Amoolya. She plays another bright and bubbly role. The girls of today could take tips from her role. How careful she is in her life and respect for parents is right thought of the director. The costumes for Amoolya further lift her sweet looks. The shades of `Shravani Subramani' continue for her in this film. Gauthami as friend of Amoolya is passable.

Cameraman Sugnan deserve award for this film. The outdoor locations he has captured are splendid. The water fall shown from top to bottom is the glory of this film. Jassie Gift tunes such as Ninna Nodalende Chandamama....and Ninnede Pustakadalli....are very melodious.

This is a pleasant watch.
