In the debut production Golden star Ganesh from `Golden Movies' showcases his lively talent and adds up with other ingredients like lovely music, cinematography, clean narration to attract the family audience. There is no doubt that the film `Maleyali Jotheyali' is a take off from Ganesh's three years old bumper crop `Mungaru Male' but there are some new additions too.

What is interesting is the mixture of fun and sorrow in a clean family film. Ganesh known for speedy and tasteful dialogues that are always filled with fun continues his trend and not even a single scene in the movie is disturbing. Preetham Gubbi deserves full compliments for such fine and clever handling in his direction.

The protagonist Preetham (Ganesh) is a freak out guy with his religious father always harping on him with affection. When Preetham completes his II PUC in the 8th attempt his father is up in joy. He feels it is enough of study and marriage for Preetham the right way proposes astrologers.  Preetham as usual does not want marriage and hatch a plot with his friend Venkatesha (Sharan). According to the new plan Preetham is to come to Bykaravalli the lush green and misty area of Sakleshpur and stay for sometime. On his way he meets Anjali (Yuvika Chaudhary) the quiet and beautiful who is on her way to sell her property in the native village for the good of an orphan house. Preetham has the extra ability to convince anyone from his sublime nature. So when he sees Sandhya (Anjana Sukhani) he begs for Anjali to be a link. To befriend Sandhya the clever Preetham uses the name of Anjali and come very close to the heart of Sandhya. He has not yet declared his love to Sandhya but suddenly he knows the sacrificing nature of Anjali that topple his stand. He immensely starts loving Anjali instead of Sandhya. Anjali over hear the intention of Preetham and Sandhya who is about to express her wish feels Anjali should get a partner like Preetham and walks out.

On knowing the intentions of Preetham now Anjali is missing. Preetham goes hunting for Anjali. What is the stand of Anjali and why did Preetham fall in love with her are the touching elements of the film.

Ganesh is glorious in his first home banner film `Maleyali Jotheyali'. The comparison that love and rain are connected is interesting. The winning point for him is the dialogue delivery. Ganesh's wife Shilpa has taken ample care in shaping her husband on the screen. The costume and make up is different for him from his earlier films. Yuvika Chaudhary is the better of the two heroines. She has the fine strength of remaining calm and beautiful. In a song Nee Sanihake Bandhare Hrudayake thondare.she is very charming. Anjana Sukhani has emoted well and the haughty role suits her. The comedy from Rangayana Raghu (who believes astrology to the height), Dattanna (a retired military man) and Sharan (as Venkatesha) provide additional boon. The role played by Lucky (a child actress Pratiksha) and Sudharani is attractive.

V Harikrishna brilliance in composition continues. Knowing the taste of Ganesh films with lovely lyrics from Jayanth Kaikini and Kaviraj has made `Maleyali Jotheyali' a musical treat. S Krishna picks up the trend he set from `Mungaru Male'. The huge sceneries he catches in his camera are fabulous and the DI technology for the film further speaks high about the film.

This is a treat for the family audience and teenagers the maximum fans of Ganesh would love to watch this film.
