My Country, My Life,' the autobiography of Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, L.K. Advani, was introduced in Kerala on Sunday. Adding a glamour touch to the event was Superstar Mammootty, who received a copy of the book from Mr. Advani at a function at Kochy. The actor even canceled a shoot to participate in the function and to rub his shoulders with the senior BJP leaders.

Mammootty who is a known leftist and the chairman of the party owned channel remarked that a "statesman's biography" will reflect the country's history and political scenario. The actor seemed to have thoroughly read the book after which he mentioned referring to the book that, India was spending 60 per cent of its budget for military purposes, mainly due to indo-Pak clashes. "If relations between the two countries had been good, it could have been utilized for the people. India will not be free economically, until then, we are independent only politically," Mammootty observed.

'I am also with the Advanijis opinion that there must be a confederation of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, to maintain the calmness in the subcontinent'.

Mammootty while wishing all the best for the Advani who is the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, was in the impression that “political equations tend to change in future". Former state revenue minister K M Mani, former minister O Rajagopal and Bharathiya Vicharakendram director P Parameshwaran were the others who spoke on the occasion.

The book was originally released, earlier at Delhi.
