Mamta

After 'Sivapathigaram' Mamta Mohandas was expected to go places in Tamil films. But she could not make the most for her own reasons. But the cute heroine was welcomed by Tollywood with open arms. With additional singing talent to boot, Mamta did make her mark in Telugu in a very short time. But have Tamil offers dried up for this singing star?

No says Mamta. She says could not accept Tamil offers when they came because she was down with Chikungunya and now some outrageous rumour mongers are spreading that she is affected by Swine Flu. Mamta categorically denies all rumours of her ill health and says she is as lively as ever.

Mamta currently has three Malayalam films in hand which is rather unusual in Mollywood. But she is confident and hopes to pull it off. Mamta also says there is a dearth of good actresses in Malayalam because most heroines want to move to more lucrative pastures after giving one hit film in Malayalam.

She also says she is planning her life better now and will concentrate on Tamil also in future. One of the big opportunities Mamta missed was to star in ‘Mandhira Punnagai’ by Karu Palaniappan. Mamta is still deeply disappointed missing that wonderful offer.
