Founder and CEO of Turtle Shell Technologies Mudit Dandwate lost his left arm to a crocodile when he tried to help his two dogs out of the water from a restricted area.

The 26 year old IIT graduate was on a trekking expedition. He did not notice the signboard warning of crocodiles, as he was focused on helping his dogs out of the lake. A crocodile tore off his left arm from below the elbow.

He is currently being treated at Hosmat Hospital; doctors said that the hand is being cleaned several times to prevent infection, as a crocodile bite can be toxic. Doctors also said the young entrepreneur is in a stable condition, but chances of him regaining his arm are weak, if nonexistent. He might get a prosthetic arm in three months.

A case has been filed against him for entering a restricted area without permission.
