Whenever Maniratnam, one of India`s most prolific directors is ready to make a new movie a lot of curiosity is cooked about what the master story teller is going to offer. Almost every day news has been floating around about a proposed cast with Karthi, Dulquer, Shruti Haasan and Keerthy Suresh in talks and not being able to doing it for various reasons.

More recent buzz suggested Fahad Fazil, Nani and Nithya Menen were finalized with A.R,Rahman scoring music and Ravi Varman handling the camera. Now it is being widely reported in many sections of the media that Mani has dropped the project and has moved on to penning a new script with possibly Dhanush playing the solo lead. Official confirmation is awaited.
