Maniratnam to go back to his roots after 30 years

It may be recalled that India`s most celebrated director Maniratnam made his debut in Kannada with Pallavi Anu Pallavi` which was also the debut of Bollywood superstar Anil Kapoor. For his very first venture Mani won the Karnataka State Award for best screenplay.

At the recent International Film Festival conducted in Bengaluru answering a query from pressmen if he would do a Kannada film again Mani confirmed that producer S. V. Rajendra Sing Babu had approached him for a film and he would be starting the film as soon as possible.
