Manju Warrier is all set to play an IPS officer in a movie to be directed by Rajesh Pillai. The actress herself was part of the scripting process offering fresh suggestions of how to present a woman cop on screen. We have had women police officers, often modeled on stereotypes and this will be redressed to some extend in this movie.
To perfect her role, Manju Warrier will be interacting with top real life women IPS officers including Nishanthini R and B Sandhya. The movie's scribe Arunlal says that this will not be a female centric movie. Kunchako Boban and Jayasurya who are part of the movie will have equal prominence in it. He also says that Manju's role will look at the domestic as well as professional space of the character - including how she handles household chores along with professional duties and everyday aspects like being scolded by her husband over something etc.
