The recently released Purambokku Engira Podhuvudamai` that has gained positive reviews from various corners for its strong message, is the 25th film of actor Shaam. The tough cop character McCauley was rather the most memorable and powerful character played by Shaam in his career.

Speaking about his completion of 25 films in 13 years of acting career, Shaam said “I feel happy and satisfied. But I cannot rest on this satisfaction. I have to work hard to achieve more. Sustaining this long in this competitive industry is in itself an achievement. I came to cinema without any background support. Director Jeeva introduced me and encouraged me to march ahead. After his sudden death I did not find anyone lending their hands to lift me up, but there were many people around to push me down. I had to take up the responsibility of selecting the right film to act. Many directors narrate the story well but fall short in executing their ideas. Now only I have stood up. I cannot repeat the mistake of falling down again and again. Its better to stop acting instead of acting in wrong films and sitting idle at home. I should be very careful in selecting the right film. When others were not ready to make good films with me I invested my own money and that has helped me. “

Speaking about his maiden production venture 6 Mezhuguvarthigal`, directed by V.Z.Durai which was also critically acclaimed for its strong portrayal of the child trafficking network, Shaam said “Though that film did not earned profits it neither caused any loss to me. Instead it fetched me huge respect and identity. It has made people think that Shaam is not a carefree chap but a dedicated and committed actor.“

While signing off Shaam said that he will be producing another film in which he will be playing a youthful and unique character.

Shaam is currently acting in a character with negative shades in a Tamil-Kannada bilingual directed by A.M.R.Ramesh. The film titled as Oru Melliya Kodu in Tamil has musical score by maestro Ilaiyaraja. Manisha Koirala and Shruthi Hariharan are the two ladies who will be romancing Shaam`s in the film while actor Arjun will also be playing and important role in the flick which is touted as a crime thriller.

All the Best Shaam!!!
