'Margarita, With A Straw' named Best Asian Film!

Kalki Koechlin`s upcoming film Margarita, With A Straw` was named the Best Asian Film by the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. The film explores the trials and tribulations of a wheelchair bound young girl named Laila with cerebral palsy.

Margarita, With A Straw` made its first world premiere at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival on September 8. The film received rave reviews for its directorial and artistic excellence, and was honored with the NETPAC Best Asian Film award in the awards ceremony this week. The trailer of the film shows how young Laila copes with the problems of sexuality, love and academics as they are further complicated due to her cerebral palsy.

Impeccable acting from the lively Kalki Koechlin awaits film buffs in Margarita, With A Straw`. Picturesque cinematography and exceptional direction are evident in the trailer and Kalki seems to have lived up to expectations in her role as the young Laila. The film is scheduled to release in India early next year.
