Parvathi Menon made her debut in Kollywood with the movie "Poo" almost 7 years ago. And now, after such a break she is back in Tamil movies in Bharat Bala's "Mariyaan" with Dhanush. "Mariyaan" is currently being shot in Nagarkoil and it's an AR Rahman musical.

When asked about her long break and movies, Parvathi Menon said, " I have made 7 movies in the past 7 years. They were mostly Malayalam and other languages. My friends still wonder why I acted in so very few movies when I could have appeared in so many more but, I don't think taking up movies just because they are offered is a good thing. I don't think it's bad to wait for a good story before signing up. Acting with big heroes can bring fame, but not satisfaction and I decide movies depending on the directors. Director Sasi's Poo, I was Maari in it, and that was a personality that stuck with everyone, and now, Bharat Bala sir's Mariyaan, my role in that is very challenging too. I want to make movies that my kids would be proud to watch and not make a face about." And about the making of "Mariyaan" she added, " Dhanush accidentally hit me in a scene instead of acting, but since the scene came out so well I was delighted.
