Mariyaan

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Tamil Comments

An actor without any qualms who easily gets cozy in any role daunted upon, a music director synonymous to excellence and known for striking the perennial chords of emotions, and then there was a director who made India bolt up with his "Maa Tuje Salam". The buck doesn't stop here, an ace cameraman Marc Koninckz who blitzed the French Cinema comes down south to ensure the visuals are breathtaking, all of these together form "Mariyan" .

Taking a leaf out of a real life crisis, Bharat Bala explores the woes of Indian Immigrant workers and the misery they are put into. Though the movie is supposed to be an inspiration of the original happening, Bala has claimed that this will be a love story as well.

The filming which started sometime around March 2012, was taken with some extraordinary technicians as well as under strenuous conditions. Dhanush himself has claimed that some of the scenes he had to go through rigorous conditions and made him think again on why he ever signed this up. The trailer can be a better explanation of his thoughts.

The movie is also said to be about the pain of separation from the loved one's and how the protagonist strives his maximum to survive against all odds. The movie is shot across Sudan, Liberia, Namibia and some sand fogged regions of Africa as well. The movie was also shot in reverse, with the climax being filmed first, not to forget the 30 sec trailer which showed Dhanush fishing under water.

The music by Oscar Nayagan has already topped the charts with the single "Nenje Elzhu" from poet Kuti Revathi hitting the charts on loop. Its lyrics and composition is soothing and motivating and this is again the umpteenth good remark.

So a movie with everything to offer and nothing to lose, the producer Venu Ravichandran will be pinning their hopes on a film that has everything to go on to become a trendsetter. How it will fare off, is to wait, watch and comment

Movie is slated for a June release, the entire crew is upbeat about it, so are we!
