There was a special screening of Papanasam` for celebrities and actress Meena speaking after watching the film praised Kamal`s acting and asserted that the genius actor has brought his own color to the role.

Meena has done the heroine`s role in the Malayalam and Telugu versions and she felt that Gautami has done full justice to the role and the way Kamal, Gautami, Niveda Thomas and Esther Anil spoke the Tirunelveli dialect and the chemistry between them made an impression as if they are a real family.
