Jiiva is shooting non stop for almost two months in and around Kumbakonam for the film Thirunaal` directed by P.S. Ramnath of Ambasamuthiram Ambani` fame. The film has Jiiva as a village ruffian and Nayanthara as his love interest playing the role of a homely school teacher.

The latest addition to the cast is Meenakshi, who is doing a glamorous role of a village arrack seller and money lender. It may be noted that Meenakshi has played the heroine in films like 'Karupuswamy Kuthagaitharar' and 'Rajadhi Raja'. It is said that there are many confrontation scenes between Jiiva and Meenakshi in the film.. Thirunaal` also has Karunaas and Joe Malluri among the cast. Music is by Srikanth Deva and produced by Kodhandapani Films.
