Director of high reputation with hits like Taj Mahal, Mylari and Ko Ko Koli Kothi (Prem Kahani was a flop) R Chandru has a strong base today in Kannada cinema has selected the Kannada speaking Meghana Gaonkar as the heroine for 'Charminar' his fifth film in a career spanning five years.

Meghana Gaonkar a software techie acted in Nam Areal Ondina, Vinayaka Gelayara Balaga and Tuglaq Kannada films counterpart to popular hero Premkumar.

R Chandru selected Meghana Gaonkar after watching her film 'Nam Areal Ondhina' Kannada film. On 30th of April he is launching the film in the presence of Sri Kodi Math Swamiji. Chandru has invited all the top stars for this event. From Kanteerava studios in Bengaluru the unit of ‘Charminar’ moves to Sakleshpur, Mysore and other surroundings for shooting.
