The veteran Disco King Mithun Chakraborty might be off the screen radar currently, working on his forthcoming movies; however that doesn’t stop him from taking time from his busy schedule to undertake his duties as the chairman of Film Studios Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union.

The Annual General Meeting of the Union was held on 26th Jan. at Andheri Sports Complex where Mithun Da was specially present, to give ear to cine workers’ woes.

The scenario at this meeting was not different from any other AGM of any organisation. The workers presented their demands and problems and Mithun Da promptly solved many of them on the spot itself. The gesture of Mithun Da showed that how much he cares for cine workers.

Mithun Da's deep concern about welfare of cine workers was also evident when on his request noted eye surgeon Dr. Kumar of Doctor Eye Institute Pvt. Ltd. held an eye camp at the venue of the AGM. Following the meeting Mithun Da personally visited the camp and inquired about the proceedings.

It is interesting to note that, Dr. Kumar on the occasion announced that his institute will charge only Rs.1 for first fifty cornea operations of cine workers. No need to add that the workers took the full advantage of this camp and the credit for this should go to the kind gesture of Mithun Da and Dr. Kumar.

The legendary actor will be seen next in Sajid Khan’s multi-starrer ‘Housefull 2’.
