In the fourth week of its run the top star cast Kannada film 'Mathad Mathadu Mallige' (starring Dr.Vishnu, Suhasini, Sudeep in lead roles directed by Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar) has created a social awareness. The pro farmer subject and sharp attack on the multi national companies in the film has touched the various farmers' organizations and youth wings. The Nandagudi near Bangalore and Chamalapura (situated in between Mysore and Heggadadevena kote) are up in arms against the government moves to hand over land to SEZ group.

The deeply affected region is Chamalapura. In this area around 3000 acres of land is marked for the thermal power project. According to environmentalist only 400 acres is enough for this project. The additional gobbling of farmers lands results in closure of three villages. This is going to severely affect thousands of farmers and villagers. In protest against the government of Karnataka move the residents of Chamalapura have made a documentary 'Swargadha Mele Smashana' (graveyard on a paradise) using the appropriate clips from the film 'Mathad Mathadu Mallige'. 'MMM' has focused the same problem of 'Chamalapura' village in the film.

The farmers in Mysore watched the film 'Mathad Mathadu Mallige' that focus on their woes and staged a protest recently in front of the Shanthala theatre. In Santosh theatre Bangalore where 'MMM' is showing the farmers from adjoining places have come in bus and tempos to watch the film.

Director Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar, actor Dr Vishnuvardhana, Rangayana Raghu, Arun Sagar, producer of 'MMM' K.Manju addressed the media on the social development of the film.

Dr.Vishnuvardhana recalled his discussion of 'MMM' film with veteran director K.Raghavendra Rao the other day he went to Hyderabad for a film function. Personally this film 'MMM' has given me utmost satisfaction said Dr.Vishnu.
