Megaster Chiranjeevi and Collection King Mohan Babu's rivalry dates back to more than a decade. However, it took a grand spectacle of the 75-year celebration of the TFI for their bitter relations to come to the fore. Ever since they sparred over, well, the definition of 'legend' (which was just for public consumption), nobody thought that they will ever patch up.

The souring relations were apparently only temporary. When Chiru attended the birthday celebrations of Mohan Babu in Tirupathi last March, the rest of us were surprised. If you thought that was just a one-off gesture which the MLA of Tirupathi made towards Babu, they surprised even more on all the later occasions they conveyed many more indications of their having buried the hatchet.

At one of the recently held CCL2 matches, Chiru, Mohan Babu and Ambarish (husband of actress Sumalatha) were seen sharing lighter moments. It is learnt from very reliable sources associated with the Manchu family that the erstwhile rivals partied together on another occasion.

One is reminded of what Murli Mohan, who also had blow hot relationship with Babu for many years, once said of the Manchu ‘macho’ man. That Babu may be a short-tempered person, but he is friendly and good-hearted. Not surprising then that Babu extended the hand of friendship to Chiru.
