A magistrate court in Kerala has issued summons to actor Mohanlal for appearing in a poster by smoking a cigarette.

The Judicial First Class Magistrate has ordered the actor to personally appear in the court on March 18, while hearing a case filed by the Health Department.

The poster in question was created to publicise his latest film 'Karma Yodha'. Summons were also issued to the movie's director Major Ravi and other members of production unit.

A top actor of Malayalam film industry, Mohanlal has carved a niche for himself in Kollywood thanks to films such as 'Siraichalai' and 'Unnaipol Oruvan'.
