The shooting of 'Velai Illa Pattadhari 2' has begun in Chennai yesterday (January 4, 2017). The film which will be the sequel to the 2014 blockbuster will have Dhanush and Amala Paul in lead roles while Bollywood actor Kajol is playing an important role. The film will be directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth with Dhanush's story and dialogues.

While almost all actors from the first part have been retained for their roles, here comes another important addition to the ensemble star cast. Young beauty Monal Gajjar has joined the sets on Wednesday. She will apparetly play a role akin to the one played by Surabhi in the first part.

Monal Gajjar has earlier acted in 'Vanavarayan Vallavarayan' with Krishna and 'Sigaram Thodu' with Vikram Prabhu.
