Moz And Cat

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Malayalam Comments

Director Fazil had been phenomenal as a filmmaker in Mollywood. Right from creating trends to dictating styles and fashion for Kerala youth, his super hits like Manjil Virinja Pookkal, Ente Mamattikutti Ammaykku, Nokketha Doorathu Kannum Nattu, Ennennum Kannettante, Ente Suryaputhrikku, Pappyude Swantham Apooz, Aniyathipravu, Harikrishnans and Manichithrathazhu were more than entertaining mass movies. And now after a gap of a couple of years, the veteran is back, coming up with a movie for this Vishu with a curious title-`Moz And Cat',.

Fazil is teaming up with actor Dileep for the first time and as usual is presenting another new face to Mollywood - Aswathy Ashok, a TV anchor who became popular through "Thirai Thentral" in Jeevan TV. Baby Nivedhitha is another important star in the movie.

Scripted by Fazil himself, the movie tells the story of the rare relationship between a young fun loving conman named Mos D Samuel with a nine-year-old child, lovingly called as Cat. Mos is a happy go lucky orphan, who lives by creating mischievous stories and telling some simple lies. He doesn't believe in relationships and hates to bear associated strains. But when he chances to meet a young nine year old kid Tessy, he couldn't resist from becoming her best friend.

Into their interesting relation comes Nandhana (Aswathy), who aims to bring back her brother Sumesh -a drug addict - to days of normalcy. She believes that the very memories of their happy childhood days can work that magic which will eliminate his bad manoevores.

Fazil will stick to his success formula of stranger, unconventional stories and relationships and their emotional backlashes. Planned as a humorous family story, the movie will feature four songs set to music by Ouseppachan. The others in the cast are Jagathy, Janardanan, Harisri Asokan, Sudish, Anoop Chandran, and Krishna Kumar.

The movie also will have a medley song sung by the comedy artists and picturised on them. Fazil's regular cameraman Aanandakuttan is in charge of the cinematography while Don Max handles the editing.

Produced by Johny Sagariga, the movie will grace around 70 centres on the Vishu day.
