Mr. Hot Mr. Kool

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Hindi Comments

Once upon a time director Partho Ghosh was associated with intense dramas like 'Agnisakshi', 'Yugpurush' and 'Ghulam-E-Mustafa'. A few insignificant films later, his name was also linked with films like 'Chetna - The Excitement' and 'Sitam'. Now he seems to have taken a new direction in his career with a comedy that goes by the name of 'Mr Hot Mr. Kool'.

A story of and for the youngsters, it revolves around two boys who could just be any other dude down your street. They are Laxman Prasad a.k.a. Lucky [Zulfi Syed] and Prem Amar Tripathi a.k.a. PAT [Yash Pandit]. They are the central characters of the film and are Mr. Kool and Mr. Hot respectively.

How? Well Lucky is a handsome young guy who is cool at heart and has en emotional side to him. For him, a relationship is for the keeps and hence his eyes are set on a like minded girl with whom he can settle down for the rest of his life. On the other hand Pat too has similar traits when it comes to his external persona, i.e. smart and handsome. He is hot but then for him it is about living every moment. Hence when it comes to girls, his approach is to have the best of times but move on after a while.

But things were never meant to be same again for the two! Because they are soon going to meet Ms. Hot and Ms. Kool.

Pooja [Priya] is a girl who matches Pat step by step when it comes to being hot! A girl of today, she knows how to keep a man on toe. And Pat is no exception. On the other hand Dolly [Samiksha] is a girl who is simply cool, homely and emotional at heart, something that suits the liking of Lucky.

So do the two 'jodis' find each other and live happily every after? Naah, because otherwise how would the entire comedy'n'drama shape up in their lives?

Before the two young guys could find their girls, they finally get a job for themselves. Working for an undergarments company in a city like London has its own perks and one of them is a chauffer driven car. Icing in the cake of the chauffer being a girl!

Their only regret? They still are waiting for that elusive girl friend. While Lucky believes in a wait and watch principal, Pat is so desperate that he doesn't feel shy of even sleeping over the bed sheets with sexy babes printed over them. 'Hanuman bhakt' in him even makes him pray to the Lord to get him a girl which never fails to amuse Lucky. Why? Because as per him praying to Lord Krishna makes more sense over Lord Hanuman!

Happy in their own way, they continue to make merry in London. Pat even starts visiting the temple of Lord Krishna where he meets Dolly. But wait? Isn't Dolly someone who is more suited for Lucky? Well, Pat hardly thinks about that and in his hurry to woo a girl approaches her. Expectedly the result is 'one tight slap' and there go Pat's dream crash-landing all over the place. Still, the lover boy in him is undeterred and informs Lucky that he has found his girl.

Oblivious of the identity of the girl, Lucky too comes across Dolly and soon the two find themselves falling in love with each other. But destiny had other ideas. Since Pat was unaware about the Lucky-Dolly 'jodi', he invites Lucky to the temple and from a distance boasts of Dolly being his girlfriend.

Lucky is obviously crestfallen and gets into a state of confusion. Meanwhile Pat meets Pooja, a girl working in his own office, and soon the two are a couple. Now Pat is so much in his love with her that din raat subah shaam he only talks about her to Lucky. And to much discomfort of Lucky, the poor chap always feels that he is speaking about Dolly!

Things reach a crescendo when unable to take any more of Pat's love talks, Lucky tells him that both of them share the same girlfriend. Now it's Pat's turn to be crestfallen. After all he now think
