Munjane Review

Yet another studious approach without missing the family elements reputed director S Narayan gives a 'Pleasant Surprise' in 'Munjane'.

It is pleasant and also surprise because of the flow of screenplay. The pleasant feel later turns as surprise when the couple applies for divorce as they are looking for their respective lovers. The strength of love despite of the two not meeting is so strong the director emphasize. There is no need to look but the meeting of minds and thoughts is enough inform director S Narayan. The same director goes to the extreme of divorce removing of the tied 'Mangalasutra' by protagonist is somewhat extreme. To test the minds of the audience director Narayan moves further when almost found clue collapses for the unity of the lover. At last the latest rage of 'Face Book' unites the separated lovers who are nothing but the divorced couple.

The habit of writing short statements for Pavithra (Manjari) becomes very costly when the reciprocating boy Manu Moorthy (Ganesh) does not get the phone number. The exchange of bus they were using further cause tragedy and miss the lovers to join. At this point of time the deadline fixed for Pavitra comes to end and she has to oblige for her parents decision.

To the surprise of audience at the interval point the marriage of Manu Moorthy and Pavithra takes up. They do not see eye to eye or discuss on any aspect. All they want is to reach the love before marriage and after marriage. Six months later the divorce is applied by Manu Moorthy and Pavithra.

All is well not so easily. You have to watch the proceedings in the theatres.

Ganesh has given dignified performance. The technology of slow motion further enhances his capacity and gives time for audience to take proper look at the properties used for the film. Manjari not fit in as Ganesh partner. A tender looking heroine was required for this film.

The quality of comedy is not in good especially of MN Lakshmi Devi. Malavika Avinash, Rajendra Karanth and Raghavendra Joshi have given admirable support.

Naavu Hingene...is for youths, Hey Hoove Nee Aralo Munjane Idhu...best of all, Yaro Obblu Sundari...is well sung and Anthu Inthu Ivanige Naanu Swantha...is a well shot duet. Dialogue writer Narayan plus music director has done a pretty well.

Jagadish Wali continues his trend and he is another Sathya Hegde to Kannada cinema as cameraman.

Forget a few liberties taken by the director. This is worth watching film.
