R Narayana Murthy is going to be back with People's War (earlier titled as Ammakaniki Andhra Pradesh) come May second week. This one is a film on the agitation of the rural folks in Sompeta against the proposed thermal power project there. Sri Hari and Posani Krishna Murali, along with Murthy, are playing key roles in this pro-people film.

Speaking to the media on Monday, the director said that he is with the people opposing the "environmentally-dangerous project". Adding that the government has so far not acted on the report of a committee it had appointed to study the pros and cons of the project, Murthy asks us to watch the response of the ruling class to the legitimate agitation of the commons in his movie.

Sri Hari is playing the role of Joga Rao, a victim of the shameful Sompeta killings. People's War narrates the dangers looming large for fishermen and farmers in case the proposed power plant becomes real.

Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao, LB Sriram, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Shakuntala are part of the cast. The film is currently in post-production.
