North Korea test launched its first intercontinental ballistic missile last week and the state media said that the missile had a good re-entry technology, allowing it to withstand the intense heat when re-entering the Earth`s atmosphere.
However, South Korea`s intelligence service has revealed that long range missile might in fact not be able to hit its target. A South Korean lawmaker said that missile was probably in its early stages as it was launched from a fixed launcher.
The test launch raised many alarms as North Korea claimed the missile could reach Alaska, and because the test was conducted on July 4, the US Independence Day.
