The topnotch of the Kannada cinema industry was present at the birth anniversary of one of the pillars of Kannada cinema N Veeraswamy father V Ravichandran trailblazer of Kannada filmdom on Wednesday evening at Garuda Mall. The event also marked the unveiling of audio book of 'Crazy Star', trailer of eight long years in the making 'Manjina Hani' and screening of 'Crazy Star' songs on a huge screen.
It was a combination of veterans and current crops of Kannada cinema industry. One man who was responsible in assembling both was V Ravichandran.
A tribute to N Veeraswamy of 'Ishwari Pictures' was paid via visuals on the screen and five top veterans of Kannada cinema industry - Siddalingaiah, SK Bhagwan, KSL Swamee, Dr Jayamala and BK Gangappa and super star Shivarajakumar remembered doyen of Kannada cinema N Veeraswamy in their address.
Going to the office of N Veeraswamy was a respect filled occasion for everyone in those days. His son beaten all of us from one 'Prema Loka'- Siddalingaiah topnotch director of yesteryears remembered.
It was envying NV (N Veeraswamy) said noted director Bhagwan. He was instrumental in making two biggest films of Kannada cinema industry - Dr Rajakumar 'Bangarada Manushya' and 'Nagarahavu' of Dr Vishnuvardhana -
My position in the over 40 years of Kannada cinema industry is only because of N Veeraswamy. I used to call him as 'Sahukar'. Such a gem had bounced cheques worth Rs.13.65 lakhs in his suitcase. One day he invited me to his house and asked to tear off all. I was touched by the incident recalled director and actor KSL Swamee.
New currency notes of Rs.10 and Rs.50 came out my mother used to get from Veeraswamy uncle first. I still remember how I and Ravi were sent for song shoot of 'Nannaaseya Hoove....a bedroom song of 'Naa Ninna Mareyalaare'. After growth in life V Ravichandran became popular for bedroom songs remembered Shivarajakumar.
Dr Jayamala also showered appreciations on the quality of N Veeraswamy and V Ravichandran. I have acted in two films produced by N Veeraswamy - Prema Matsara and Khadima Kallaru. For the conduct of Amrutha Mahatsava the presence of V Ravichandran was very important felt Dr Jayamala.
