Breezy, oomphalicious, soothing
Thursday, March 22, 2012 • Telugu Comments

Rising up to the occasion is Chakri, the forgotten musician.  He belts out one of his career's most interesting albums.  Ably aided by a bevy of tones - from Shaan, Kunal, Adnan Sami, KK, Revanth to Geetha Madhuri and others, he delivers a blusterous album.

Balaji, a relatively new lyricist, shows imagination.  Chandrabose writes but one song.

Naa Ishtam

Artist: Kunal Ganjiwala
Lyricist: Chandrabose

An album cannot ask for a better dekko opening.  Chakri's beats make you upbeat, while Kunal Ganjiwala's peppy voice lends the songs maturity necessitated by the lyrics.

Maa Peddakka

Artists: Geetha Madhuri, Deepthi Chari, Aishwarya
Lyricist:  Balaji

The throwback to a Bollywood item number is obvious.  However, Geetha Madhuri and Co vocals make Maa Peddakka oomphalicious.  The doubles entendres are a bit appalling though.

Jillele Jillele

Artists: Adnan Sami, Mamata Sarma
Lyricist:  Balaji

Chakri's tunes give the hero ample opportunity to showcase his dancing talent.  The song takes a delightful turn in tenor at a point.  Adnan Sami's voice is refreshing.

Haayi Hayiga

Artist: Revanth
Lyricist: Balaji

The breezy romantic song is promising and lively.  Revanth's youthful vocals smacks of chirpiness.  The lyrics draw from various songs from the yesteryears.  Nonetheless, it deserves many listens.

Changure Andhale

Artists: Hemachandra, Uma Neha
Lyricist: Vanamali

This energetic number is a bit hackneyed.  Listen it for Uma Neha's vocals that border on the naughty.

O Saathiya

Artist: KK
Lyricist: Balaji

Chakri's instrumentation is interesting.  Depth inheres in KK's voice.  Balaji's lyrics keep the feel modest and the wordings are measured.  The song's poetic touch is a breeze.

Nee Kannullo

Artist: Shaan
Lyricist: Balaji

Makes for a soothing listen.  Shaan renders the song with gusto and yet he brings the brilliance of minimalism.  This is a kind of song which you might not have expected from Chakri, but the music director more than dazzles.
