Following the decision of the distributors association to start a 'release bandh' in Kerala, Mohanlal-Sreenivasan team’s eagerly awaited Rajiv Kumar directed Manian Pillai Raju produced ‘Oru Naal Varum’, and Jayasuriya's biggie with debutant director Aji John, 'Nallavan' which were slated for a release today, have been postponed.

Both these films were ready with completed censoring procedures and needed prints. The producers were on negotiations with various organisations till the last minute to somehow get the movies to the theatres on scheduled dates. The new shifts will come as a major blow to the stars of the films, as by next couple of weeks, a number of films are getting ready to greet the audiences in Kerala. Mohanlal, who is following a disaster in ‘Alexander The Great’ desperately, needs a hit to jump back to his lost charishma of stardom. While 'Nallavan' is widely looked upon as Jayasuriya's first major attempt towards the bigger seats in the industry.

By the next week, the other movies lined up for release includes Suresh Gopi's 'Rama Raavanan', Sibi Malayail's ‘Apoorva Raagam’, Shebi Chavakkad's 'Plus Two' and Harinarayanan's 'Neelambari', which will clash with ‘Oru Naal Varum’ and ‘Nallavan’.
