There are many fine cinematic achievements that is happening in Hindi and Tamil like the year’s big hits ‘Queen’ and ‘Highway’. Evidently inspired from them in their narrative lines and a far distant cousin who doesn’t looks similar in any positive virtues, is this week’s release ‘Namaste Baali’ - a dumb, poorly done comedy attempt that follows the lines of ‘Queen’, but fails miserably from the word go. Though there is pretty much fun offered in its creative posters, there is not much in offer actually and these posters are the end of creativity that we have with this team, which also announces another youngster K V Bejoy earning a name of a film director. The movie has Roma trying for a comeback as Annamma who is engaged with Chandi (Aju Varghese) As Annamma starts weaving dreams about a splendid future, Chandi runs away to Bali, leaving their wedding plans devastated. Annamma, who is but a single-minded lady now leaves for Bali to fond Chandi . She come across many people including Tony (Balu Varghese) who offer her initial shelter and the renowned wild life photographer Sunny (Manoj K Jayan) who changes her like no other. Soon we see her shedding the all Indian attires sporting miniskirts and partying all through the night, thus getting the queer sort of liberation. The movie which moves on in a thin story lines by Devadas and Dhinil doesn’t have much to tell .It seems like one attempt that was prepared with the sole intention of shooting one movie in this backdrop. So there is no cohesive screenplay or sequences that connect with you and asks you to have a needful watch. There is nothing in the offer as an an entertainment stuff as well, with its attempt on wits and packaging falling desperately dull. The only solace for those who have embarked on the journey to Bali is that it last just a minute over hundred and will not offer time for a decent snore. Roma looks good in both the avatars as a Kottayam based lady and a bold modern girl, but she has made a poor selection for her comeback, in this role. Aju Varghese and Balu Varghese in their new generation beards try to mouth some funny lines who doesn’t sound so funny. Apart from his ridiculous wig , Manoj K jayan spoils the role which now looks totally out sync. The cinematography by Fazil Nazar and music by Gopi Sundar are the two departments that stand much better than any thing else in this movie, which is sure to be wiped out of theatres in a few days in this busy week of release . In the final lines, this ‘Namaste Bali ‘ cannot be advised even as a travelogue film, as there will be more engaging things if one has attended a similar genre on this beautiful island. Rating - 4/10
