The dusky damsel and an understated performer, Nandita Das is a role model for those who want to do roles of substance as against run-of-the-mill films. Her commitment to social causes and choice of roles that leave indelible marks in our hearts in an industry which is otherwise male-dominated, speak volumes about Nandita the person and the performer.
Nandita has wielded the megaphone earlier. Her first tryst with film-making was with a 30-minute documentary titled Imprint on Clays, on Gursharan Singh, IndiaÂs first blue pottery maker.
Now, Nandita wants to make a feature film as well. Apart from that, another ultimate aim of the talented artiste is to work in a comedy.
